Just a quick update to let everyone know that Ashley came home on Friday. With her came a lot of new medical equipment. She’s on oxygen and and she’s connected to a drainage pump for the fluid that builds up around her lungs. She’s full of smiles and giggles throughout the day, but more often than not she’s just tired. Our main focus is now on keeping Ashley as comfortable as possible and keeping things as normal as we can for Lindsey. We want the girls to enjoy every moment they have together and with this in mind we hope everyone understands that we’d prefer not to have any visitors at this time. We are so thankful for all your love, support and continued prayers.
Sending lots of love and prayers your way. So, so sorry Claudia hug each other every moment you can.

Hope you enjoy all those giggles and smiles, it was an honor to get to share them with Ashley for only the little bit I got with her. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

“Lord, have mercy upon this precious little family.” I am Mckenna’s grandma, and met you and sweet Ashley a couple of times at Children’s. I am so so sorry to hear this news, and will commit to praying once again for your faith to remain strong, for comfort and life in the midst of this journey for Ashley and all of you, for wisdom for Doctors, for unwavering hope and trust. Love, Barb

We’ve followed Ashley journey for quite some time. Please know that you remain in the prayers of many. It brings home the reality that only the Great Physician can truly heal and our fate is in His hands. We know He is able to heal, if it is His will. If not, may He grant us the grace and strength to also accept that. In all things, may God’s will be done. We know that He always desires our good, even though that may not include perfect health. Even with the grace of God, with our children, this is so much more difficult to understand. As I have found for myself, you have to try and just give it to God.
My favorite scripture verse is Phillipians 4:6 – Don’t worry about anything but instead pray about everything.
Warmly,
Natalie Steffen

I wanted to write again – and let you know that you remain in my thoughts and prayers – that you be lifted up and strengthened and given the peace to be able to enjoy fully and joyfully each moment you have together – that you feel those smiles and giggles resonate through your soul…I just wanted you to know that I think of you all often… Much love <3 Cheryl (and McKenna)
